About the Author
Alexia Christiana Ioannides is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor, and nationally Registered Dance/Movement Therapist with over two decades of experience in behavioral health.
Born in New York to Cypriot immigrants, Alexia grew up carrying both the faith and the wounds of her family's story. Her own journey — through trauma, recovery, and a return to the Eastern Orthodox tradition of her childhood — became the foundation of everything she does. Artist Juce is the book she needed and couldn't find.
She has served as Clinical Director of a dual-diagnosis treatment facility, co-founded a ten-year outpatient group practice in Palm Beach, and provided dance/movement therapy with cancer patients at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. She has also served as a Behavioral Health Care Surveyor for The Joint Commission.
Her work has been featured in the Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Daily News, and Jupiter Magazine. In 2019, she facilitated dance/movement therapy for students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School through Camp Shine.
She is the founder of The Alithia Project — born from her own breaking and dedicated to raising awareness for artists struggling with mental illness and addiction, and providing resources for recovery.
She currently resides in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida.
Your liquid gold is waiting. It always begins with a pressing.
